The Pulse Group was retained by Kent State University to perform a focused review/assessment of the foodservice contract operations and the overall dining program for five campuses. This initial contract advisory work was followed by providing interim assistance with foodservice contract management administration. The assignment involved:
The result of our work was a foodservice business plan with recommendations and action steps detailing specific financial, operational, service, organizational development and communication strategies and tactics. In addition, we collaborated with the University and the contractor to make a number of contract adjustments and develop a variety of contract management and oversight tools. These included unit-based financial reporting, master labor schedules, work rules and disciplinary procedures, annual scope of services and annual program budget.
